REIKI SESSIONS – DUNDEE

Reiki deeply relaxes body and mind. Pronounced ‘ray-kee’, in Japanese it means ‘universal life energy’. In addition to creating a feeling of deep relaxation, reiki can also reduce anxiety, depression and pain as you notice a sense of complete wellbeing. Reiki sessions can bring focus and clarity into your everyday life.

Reiki is given by the practitioner by placing the palms of the hands on areas of the client’s fully clothed body whilst channeling energy thereby providing physical and mental wellbeing. The session is normally carried out in the lying position but the individual can also be in the sitting position with the whole person being treated. The treatment feels like a lovely warm glow which radiates through your body and mind and the session lasts approximately one hour. Soothing music is played in the background which adds to the calm and serenity of the whole experience.

Reiki was developed in Japan in 1926 by Dr Mikao Usui. Dr Usui was inspired to teach this healing system from ancient teachings following years of study, research and meditation. As there is no belief system connected to reiki, anyone can benefit from this simple, effective technique. Regular reiki sessions can heal at many levels including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Acute symptoms can be treated quickly such as stomach pain. Chronic symptoms can take longer. Reiki has also been found to ease the pain experienced by cancer patients. Reiki will flow to the areas needed, soothing pain and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

You will have your own individual response to the session; you may experience feelings of warmth or a sense of ‘letting go’, you may feeling rejuvenated and energised or so deeply relaxed you may even fall asleep!
