DO YOU SUFFER FROM POST LUNCH SLUMP? TRY THESE TOP 10 SELF HYNPOSIS TECHNIQUES – G0 BACK TO WORK RE-ENGERGISED AND RE-VITALISED.
Self hypnosis is a great way to get you back to work after lunch feeling full of life. Do you feel tired after lunch? Do you feel lethargic? Do you anticipate a stressful meeting or appointment? Do you need to be on top form for a meeting with your manager? If the answer to these questions is ‘Yes’ you could benefit from practicing Self Hypnosis. Practice this technique for just 2 - 3 times per week (or more if you can) and you will notice you have bags of energy and motivation for the afternoon ahead. Just 10 minutes at your desk (making sure there’s little chance of interruption), in your car, or even in the loo! Anywhere that you can rest that noisy mind! So give these a try and look forward to your afternoon being packed with lots of your best ideas!
- Sit down (or even lie down if you can), legs uncrossed, hands placed gently on your thighs. Allow your eyes to gently close.
- As you allow your eyes to remain gently closed begin noticing your breath. The gentle rise and fall of your breath. Breathe deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth.
- As thoughts enter your mind let them drift away. Notice they are there but you are not concerned with them right now. When you don’t dwell on them, they will not begin the cycle of over thinking.
- After a couple of minutes your body may feel a little heavy, heavy and tired (this is normal). Begin counting down from number 10 to number 1. Count each number down with each out breath; or every second out breath.
- As you count down, say the words ‘calm’, ‘relaxed’, keep repeating the words until you have counted down to number 1.
- When you have reached the number one you can notice that you feel much more relaxed than you did when you started – still allowing your thoughts to come and go – no need to dwell on them.
- Now imagine you’ve drifted off to a place of quiet calm and peace. Any place that comes into your head – this could be somewhere you’ve been before or a place in your imagination.
- Notice the feelings of tranquility you sense now. Notice any smells, sounds and sights in this quiet place.
- Stay there for a few minutes – breathing more deeply – begin to imagine the afternoon ahead where you are motivated, energised, making excellent decisions, stress free. Enjoy this lovely feeling for as long as you like.
- Now count up from 1 – 10 telling yourself you are becoming more alert with each number. Open your eyes at the count of 10 feeling calm, at peace, relaxed.
This art of relaxation is deeply peaceful and will become easier and easier as you practice more often and more. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t succeed first time. The benefits of a de cluttered and more focused mind will come in time.
